Committees

 

Finance Committee

Finance Committees meet annually to prepare the Foundation's operating budget and to assist as needed in the annual audit. Current committee members include: Tom Fryer, Chair; Dirk Daveline; Terry Harts; Mark Knackendoffel; Jo Lyle; Karen McCulloh and Michael Oldfather.

Fiscal Sponsorship Committee

This committee meets as needed to review fiscal sponsorship applications and make recommendations to the Executive Board.  Current members include: Jim Gordon, Chair; and Karen McCulloh. 

Grants Committee

This committee meets to review requests for grants during the Foundation's grant cycles and make recommendations to the Executive Board. Current committee members include: Karen McCulloh, Chair; Jim Armendariz; Matt Crocker; Shirley DeLano; Mary DeLuccie; Cathy Flinchbaugh; Cheryl Grice; Kevin Ingram; Sue Maes; Lana Oleen; Carol Oukrop; Bruce Snead; Lee Taylor; Gail Urban and Kerry Wefald.

GROW TO Steering Committee

Ad hoc committee established specifically to focus on building of GMCF endowments and successful completion of the GROW II Matching Grant challenge from the Kansas Health Foundation.  Current committee members include: Bill Richter, Chair, Terry Arthur, Tom Fryer, James Gordon, Mike Holtman, Jodi Kaus, Mark Knackendoffel, Lee Taylor, and Don Wissman.

Investment Committee

Committee members are professionals in the world of finance, such as economics professors, investment consultants or others with a background in investment management. The Committee is charged with making recommendations to the Executive Board to provide for the investment of funds of the Foundation. Current committee members include: Jim Gordon, Chair;  Tom Fryer; Thomas Hintz; Michael Oldfather; Rob Sage; Polly Stoecklein; and Don Wissman.

Marketing & Asset Development Committee

The committee's purpose is to promote public awareness of the Foundation's existence, flexibility, capacities and benefits to donors and the community. Current committee members include: Jodi Kaus, Chair; Jerry Banaka; Tom Fryer; Mike Holtman; C. Clyde Jones; Jan Marks; Karen McCulloh; Matt Paquette; Bill Richter; Gail Urban.
 

Nominating Committee

The committee is responsible for nominating persons for election to the Board of Trustees, Executive Board members and Officers of the Foundation. Additionally the committee helps provides orientation to newly elected trustees. Current committee members include: Terry Arthur, Chair; Dirk Daveline; Joleen Hill; Susanne Kufahl; Jim Morrison; Lee Taylor; and Don Wissman.

Trustees Fund Grants Committee

The committee invites all GMCF Trustees to make suggestions for grant making from the Trustees Endowed Fund.  Meets to review recommendations and presents a Trustees Fund grant proposal to be voted on by all Trustees at the GMCF Annual Meeting.  Current committee members include: Jodi Kaus and Lucy Williams, Co-Chiars, Jo Lyle, Tanna Thompson, and Kerry Wefald.

Scholarship Committee

Establishes policies and guidelines to govern the handling of Scholarship Funds in a manner consistent with the purposes of the Foundation and in keeping with applicable tax regulations.  Current committee members include:  Jerry Banaka, Chair; Dirk Daveline; Kathleen Greene; Steve Levin; Don Rathbone; Karen Roberts; and Noel Schulz.
