Liz Workman, Executive Director
Liz Workman joined the Greater Manhattan Community Foundation staff as Executive Director in May of 2010. Prior to coming to the Foundation, Liz was an independent fine arts consultant, providing a broad range of collections management and administrative services to private collectors, museums and corporations. Before managing her consulting practice, Liz?s professional career centered on banking and investment banking. She was a Corporate Analyst at Citizens Financial Group in Providence, Rhode Island, a Manager in the Private Banking Group at Citibank in New York, and was the Managing Director of Analytics at Cohane Rafferty Securities in New York from 1988 to mid-1999. Liz grew up in Wichita, Kansas and holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Wichita State University and a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in finance from Boston University, where she was the valedictorian of her graduating class. She is fluent in Spanish and is an accomplished photographer. Liz also enjoys hiking, gardening and traveling, and is an avid reader.
Elaine Dhuyvetter, Assistant Director
Elaine joined the Greater Manhattan Community Foundation staff as Assistant Director in April 2008. Just prior to beginning her job with the Foundation, Elaine spent over ten years working for two local credit unions. First for the Kansas Farm Bureau Employees Credit Union as Assistant Manager. When that organization merged with K-State Federal Credit Union, Elaine moved into a job as Marketing Manager. Elaine also has experience in curriculum development and youth education. She and her family moved to Manhattan in 1995. Elaine and her husband, Kevin, have two sons and one daughter. When not attending her children’s many activities, Elaine enjoys quilting, reading and taking long walks.
Laurie Ekart, Administrative Assistant
Laurie has been with the Greater Manhattan Community Foundation and serving as Administrative Assistant for the past five years. She spent many years prior to that working for the Kansas State University Foundation. Laurie and her husband, Jimmy, have been lifelong Manhattan residents. Her hobbies include hand crafting greeting cards and jewelry, reading, and spending time with her pets.
