Vernon J. Henricks, President/CEO
Vern's Email:Vern brings a great deal of experience to the GMCF as a development professional and fundraising and leadership consultant. He has served a number of roles during his career. Those include being Vice President of Institutional Advancement for Manhattan Christian College (KS), Senior Vice President for Hartsook & Associates consulting firm (KS), Vice President of Major Gift Programs for the KSU Foundation (KS), Executive Director of Development for the College of Engineering at Iowa State University (IA), Director of Development for the School of Engineering at the University of Pittsburg (PA), Associate Athletic Director at Humboldt State University (CA), and Assistant Athletic Director and Head Baseball Coach at Fort Hays State University (KS). Vern earned both his B.S. and M.S. degrees at Kansas State University. He and Lane have been married for thirty-four years and have two children, Jordan and Lauren. Lane is fitness instructor and Human Resources specialist; Jordan received a BS from UCLA and MDIV from Fuller Seminary and plans to enter the U.S. Army as a Chaplain. Lauren received her B.S. degree from Kansas State University and works for the KSU Football office.
Elaine Dhuyvetter, Vice President, Marketing & Programs
Elaine's Email:Elaine joined the Greater Manhattan Community Foundation staff in April 2008. She serves as Vice President, Marketing and Programs. Just prior to beginning her job with the Foundation, Elaine spent over ten years working in two local credit unions; Kansas Farm Bureau Employees Credit Union, as Assistant Manager, and when that organization merged with K-State Federal Credit Union, Elaine moved into a position as Marketing Manager. Elaine also has experience in program and curriculum development and youth education through previous positions as the Meade County Family and Consumer Science and 4-H Extension Agent. As an Extension Agent, Elaine worked with and managed a large number of volunteers, and organized, supervised, and directed events including adult and youth educational programs, and the Meade County Fair. As an At-Risk Youth Program Director for Project R.E.A.D. in Garden City, Kansas, Elaine designed and implemented after school programs and activities in six schools for over two hundred at-risk youth in Finney County. Elaine and her husband, Kevin, have three children. Dusty is employed at Koch Industries in Wichita, KS, Ethan recently moved to the San Francisco area and is employed by Hormel Foods, and Katie is majoring in Electrical Engineering at K-State. Elaine loves to take long walks with her cockapoo, Dori, quilt, travel, and spend time with family and friends. She recently took golf lessons and hopes to improve greatly and add this to her list of hobbies!
Marla Brandon, Vice President of Finance
Marla's Email:Marla Brandon joined the Greater Manhattan Community Foundation staff in December of 2012. She came to the Foundation with over twenty years experience in the accounting and finance field. Marla grew up in Manhattan. She holds a Bachelor of Science from Friends University and a Master of Business Administration from Baker University. Marla is a graduate of the Flint Hills Regional Leadership Program and serves on its Board of Directors. Marla serves on the Board of Directors of the Manhattan Area Technical College. She is an adjunct instructor at the University of Mary. She is a former adjunct instructor at Highland Community College and Kansas State University. Marla is a member of the Pilot Club of Manhattan and serves as its Treasurer.
