Youth Impacting Community
Youth Impacting Community (YIC) is the youth advisory board for the Greater Manhattan Community Foundation. We do lots of really great things like community service projects and taking part in a grant making process for youth-related programs. This year we awarded grant money to the Manhattan Parks and Recreation Dept., Sunflower CASA Project, Inc., Flint Hills Breadbasket, Manhattan Emergency Shelter, and Big Brothers Big Sisters.

YIC members helped fill backpacks with food. These backpacks are given to area students who typically go hungry on the weekends. Thanks to a program administered by USD 383 and the Flint Hills Breadbasket, and partially funded through a YIC grant, these students will now have food to eat over the weekend. |
On January 17th six new members were welcomed into the group at a party held at Time Out Corner. We played miniature golf and arcade games, ate pizza and ice cream cake and had a really great time. |

On Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, YIC met at Manhattan Town Center to participate in the MLK Day celebration to help children create items to include as part of a thank you gift to area nonprofit groups. |
