GMCF Young Trustees

Background

GMCF Young Trustees is a group comprised of individuals under the age of 40 who want to grow their knowledge of, and impact on, the philanthropic sector within Manhattan, KS and the surrounding region.

The group began in 2015 with the intent to expose young professionals in the community to local non-profits and encourage them to engage.

Expectations

  • Participating on a committee

  • Attending the GMCF Semi-Annual and Annual meetings

  • Staying informed of GMCF programs and the non-profits served

  • Embracing philanthropy by making a contribution to one or more of the GMCF non-profit funds

Events

  • Manhattan Chili Cook-Off is an annual fall event. Individuals and businesses alike are given the opportunity to compete against each other to be voted as best chili in town! All proceeds are donated to local non-profits.

  • Letters to Santa provides a personalized response to each child who has written and "mailed" a letter to Santa via depositing their letter into "Santa's Mailbox", located at the Blue Earth Plaza. In addition, basic gifts are given to children in need and a fun-filled evening to meet Santa is provided to all children in the community.
