Dean and Shirley Taylor

Dean and Shirley (Wickham) Taylor were high school sweethearts, graduating in the Manhattan High School Class of 1952. 

They lived in Manhattan for their entire married life, except for three years when Dean was the International Director of McCall’s Pattern Company in Macclesfield, England. They later owned The Palace Card and Gift Shop in Aggieville for over 20 years. Dean ended his working career as the Director of First Impressions at Hy-Vee.

They were both active in many civic organizations such as the Chamber of Commerce, Elks, Rotary, PEO, Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, and Domestic Science Club, among others. They loved this community and were so proud to call Manhattan home. 

They looked forward to participating in Grow Green Day each year through the Greater Manhattan Community Foundation.  They will now be able to continue supporting GMCF, in perpetuity, through this Memorial Fund.
