Flint Hills Volunteer Center - 2024
The Flint Hills Volunteer Center was awarded a $7,500 grant through the YES! Fund to support ongoing operations and sustain its wide array of community programs. As a cornerstone for volunteerism in the region, the Center offers diverse initiatives designed to engage and enrich the lives of individuals across all ages and backgrounds.
Support from the YES! Fund played a key role in the Center’s continued growth, providing essential funding to retain multiple staff members who make this vital work possible.
Over the past year, the Flint Hills Volunteer Center coordinated various meaningful projects and events. Volunteers dedicated time at Prairie Paws Animal Shelter, hosted Santa City, created Valentine’s Day cards for nursing home residents, and organized an outreach day at Hope Therapeutic Ranch. Additional projects included crafting Easter decorations, painting colorful wooden spring ornaments, and making heartfelt cards for residents at Via Christi Village. Volunteers gathered at the new Flint Hills Volunteer Center office to paint, organize, and assemble teacher appreciation kits.
Through these efforts, the Flint Hills Volunteer Center continues to foster a spirit of service, connection, and community pride, ensuring that residents of all ages can positively impact.
