Manhattan Marlins - 2024

Posted Tuesday July 8, 2025

The Manhattan Marlins Swim Team received an $8,000 grant through the YES! Fund to support pool rental expenses, covering approximately 25% of facility costs and other essential operating expenses that make year-round programming possible.

Over the past year, more than 110 swimmers participated in Marlins activities, representing a remarkable 22% increase in membership compared to the previous season. Participants ranged in age from 5-year-old beginners to adult Master swimmers. The team enrolled 84 swimmers in its summer swim program this summer, the highest number since 2017.

In addition to its year-round competitive program, the Marlins offered their second season of a lower-commitment Summer League at City Pool. This initiative was created to reduce barriers to entry and allow more local families to experience the benefits of organized competitive swimming in an accessible, supportive environment.

The team’s dedicated coaches and board members continue to foster a fun, safe atmosphere where swimmers of all experience levels are welcomed, from those just learning the basics to seasoned competitors training at a high level.

Thanks to the continued support of the YES! Fund and the Greater Manhattan Community Foundation, the Manhattan Marlins remain committed to providing high-quality swimming programs that promote fitness, confidence, and lifelong skills for the Manhattan community.
