UFM Community Learning Center - 2024

UFM Community Learning Center is a creative educational program serving the Manhattan area. They offer classes and program activities for all ages and interests. UFM works as a forum for exchanging ideas and a catalyst for new programs and services that enhance the quality of life for all. They received a grant through Grants for Greater Manhattan for $3,375 toward the UFM Community Learning Center's Project EXCELL. This program provides personal enrichment and life skill classes to adults 18 years and older with developmental disabilities. Students learn independent living skills, gain confidence, and improve their interaction with the program's various students, volunteers, and instructors. This project fosters and strengthens a supportive and inclusive environment. Sessions one and two took place during the fall, with 56 students participating in the second session! Following this spring, sessions three and four will occur, and graduation is in early May.
