October Grant Opportunities & Updates
October brings another transition in GMCF’s grantmaking calendar. As we begin the final quarter of the year, new grant opportunities are open while another successful YES! Fund campaign moves into its next stage.
Applications are now open for the fourth quarter of Lincoln & Dorothy Deihl grants, with three opportunities focused on community arts, humanities, and projects addressing basic human needs and youth. Generally, Deihl grants support projects located in or benefiting Manhattan and Riley County, with requests typically exceeding $10,000.
Applications for all three fourth-quarter Deihl grant opportunities will be accepted through October 31.
The fall Ward & Brenda Morgan Community Grant application is also open, supporting projects that create affordable, memorable community experiences or serve vulnerable and disadvantaged elderly and youth. Grant requests should range from $5,000 to $20,000, with applications accepted through October 26.
October also marks the next stage for the YES! Fund. Thanks to the generosity of donors throughout our community, this year’s campaign raised more than $212,000 to support local youth programs.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this year’s campaign a success and for continuing to invest in opportunities for young people in our community. With the YES! Fund application period now closed, applications will be reviewed throughout October, with applicants notified of funding decisions by early November.
As one grant cycle moves into review and others open for applications, we look forward to seeing how these grant opportunities support organizations, programs, and projects serving our community.
