Rise Above Mural - Be Able
Local artist Layne Stafford, alongside apprentices from Be Able, led the creation of a powerful mural on the south side of the Be Able community center. Titled "Rise Above," the mural symbolized resilience, hope, and growth in the heart of Manhattan, Kansas. This is a visual tribute to the transformative work happening within our walls. As a nonprofit community and adult day center, Be Able has supported individuals and families facing adversity by fostering connections, building skills, and creating opportunities. Since opening in 2020, they've served as a hub for healing and empowerment—connecting neighbors to resources, life coaching, and long-term support. The mural now stands as a celebration of our mission and a tribute to the partnerships that make our work possible, including collaborations with MESI, Thrive, Pawnee, Achieve, and more. They're proud to showcase this vision and what it means for our community to Rise Above.
