Sarah Barrett, Ph.D., LMFT

Dr. Sarah Barrett is Vice President for Impact Strategy and Grant Programs at the Greater Manhattan Community Foundation. She brings extensive experience in nonprofit leadership, community-engaged research, and coalition building, with a career spanning the public, private, academic, and nonprofit sectors. Prior to joining GMCF, she served on the research team at the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, worked in federal policy and advocacy, and served as a language and cultural ambassador in Zaragoza, Spain. At Kansas State University, Dr. Barrett held several leadership roles, including Assistant Dean of Student Life, where she lead the creation of the Cats' Cupboard to address student food insecurity.

Sarah earned her Bachelor of Science, her Master of Science in marriage and family therapy, and her Ph.D. in applied family science, all from Kansas State University. When Sarah isn’t attending one of her many community board meetings, she likes to hunt, fish, and tend to her chickens. Most of all, Sarah enjoys spending time with her spouse, their daughter, and the cutest dog in the world, Maisie.
