Supporting Military Families: Updates from AFCF

The Gold Star Family Support Fund of Kansas was awarded a grant from the McCormick Foundation to allow Gold Star Families to visit Washington, DC, and honor their loved one’s memory at the 1st Infantry Division Monument to recognize their sacrifices and commemorate their service. The renovation of the monument, spearheaded by the Society of the 1st Infantry Division, adds significance to the visit for the families. Each year, AFCF organizes a yearly Stand To! Golf Tournament, providing an opportunity for the community, soldiers, and employees of Fort Riley to come together for a fun and meaningful event. While postponing the year’s outing to the Fall of this year may be disappointing for some, it also offers an extended period for anticipation and preparation.
