Neil Horton

2014 - 2015 Board Chair

Neil is a native of Topeka, Kansas, and a graduate of Kaw Area Technical School in Engineering Technology. I spent seven years as a Land Surveyor for Burgwin/Pasley Consulting Engineers before beginning my career at Bayer Construction Company in 1983. Neal is the VP/CEO at Bayer Construction Co, Inc. Bayer is a Heavy/Highway contractor founded in 1935, specializing in Excavation, Site Preparation, Heavy Utility Lines, and Crushed Limestone Production.

Neal has been married to his wife Janet for  32 years and has four grown children, two of whom are married, and one grandchild. We consider ourselves lucky that all of our children have chosen to make Manhattan their home, pursue their careers, and raise their families.

He enjoys reading and tinkering around the yard, and together, Neal and Janet enjoy KSU Sports, community theatre performances, and playing golf.
