Kim McAtee

2023 - 2024 Board Chair

Kim McAtee

Kim holds a B.S. from Kansas State University with an emphasis in Language Arts and an M.S.  from The University of Kansas with an emphasis in Counseling. Kim and her husband, Jamie, moved to Manhattan in 1998, where Kim retired from education to raise their three children, Pierson, Gigi, and Camy. She has been an active volunteer with First United Methodist Church, The Boy’s and Girl’s Club, The First Tee, The Junior League of the Flint Hills, the School PTA and PTO, The MHS Booster Club, and currently serves on the GMCF Board of Trustees and Manhattan’s Special Alliance Board. While her initial passion for volunteering focused on Children and Youth programming, she became a trustee in 2011 because she wanted to impact other needs in the community positively. She has been amazed by how GMCF has been able to help businesses and individuals in the Covid-19 crisis in the last few years. She looks forward to serving on the GMCF Board of Trustees to continue meeting needs within the community and surrounding areas.

Today, we chatted with our outgoing board chair, GMCF’s 2023-2024 Board of Directors Chair. We unfolded her story in a dialogue that captured the spirit of community and the power of compassionate leadership.
